Christopher Sommers is a versatile multi-genre bassist, vocalist, and bandleader who has made his mark across the contemporary music landscape. From pop and rock to jazz, funk, blues, folk, and R&B, Christopher’s musical adaptability and improvisational prowess have established him as a sought-after collaborator and performer.

As a member of numerous influential groups including The Fellas, Good Foot, On One, The Kevin Beadles Band, The Vincent Robinson Collective, Blue Star Creeper, Your Favorite Shirt, Dig Deeper, and Hoi Polloi, Christopher has built a reputation for bringing musical visions to life. Currently, he showcases his talents as bassist and vocalist with David Hobbes & The Elements of Style and continues his long-standing collaboration with Kevin Beadles.

Though partially schooled in Jazz and Pop ensemble studies at junior college, Christopher is largely self-taught, having honed his craft through mentorship from respected musicians like Mark Oi, Wendell Fishman, Rick Zamora, Aaron Chaiclin and Phil Adams. His musical journey has included deep dives into jazz and instrumental music, developing a distinctive voice as a bass soloist along the way.

Christopher’s passion for improvisation defines his musical identity. He takes particular pride in his ability to create in the moment, bringing spontaneity and authentic expression to every performance. His current focus is on further developing his roles within David Hobbes & The Elements of Style and Kevin Beadles, continuing his evolution as a musician who moves effortlessly across genres while maintaining his unique musical voice.
